October 18th, 2003

Wow, okay. First, let me apologize for my long hiatus. So much work has been coming my way between school and my research. Our last test was wicked hard. I barely came out on top of it, but overall I did ok in the class. Unfortunately, a lot of others weren't so lucky. It took me a couple days just to recoup from that, a totally draining experience. My research is done now, but I'm still working on writing it up for presentation and publication so that's also kept me really busy. Since I was gone for so long, I wanted to make it up to everyone so I spent this morning working on a new page under my HRT diary that compares the average size of the male body with the female body. I've talked with some people recently who were curious but had no idea where to look for that sort of thing. For some of you the information there will make you feel great because you fit into the female norms nicely (if you're tg that is), but for everyone else just remember:

The averages there cover only the 5th to 95th percentiles so 10 percent of women fall above or below that range also considering the population in the United States of approximately 300,000,000 (with about 150,000,000 being female), this would mean that 7,500,000 women in the U.S. are higher than the 95th percentile (1 in 20). Of course not all of the 150,000,000 women in the U.S. are 20 and older, but you get the idea.

On a seperate note, I was at a party yesterday with a ton of people from my school (the majority of which have no idea about my tg status), and it was incredibly awkward trying to present as male. I think this is why for the most part I've never been a great socialite. It's hard to interact with people who have preconceived notions about who you are just because of the way you look on the outside. I guess a lot of non-tg people know what that's like too. It's not that I don't want to socialize with others, it's just that I'm not really interested in socializing with others when I have to pretend and be the "fake me". Okay, no more whining. So yeah, anyways, I'm back and I'll try to post some new pics and stuff early in the week. Stay tuned.
